These are just a few of the things that make us a major global financial services provider. But it’s our future ambitions and the actions we’re taking to achieve them that truly sets us apart.

We’re setting out to shape the future of our business. Driven by strong values and a clear direction, we’re focusing on one core purpose: Helping people achieve their ambitions – in the right way. This includes our graduates and interns.

Barclays offers a remarkable breadth of opportunities for students, undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates right across our business. Every programme presents distinct challenges and opportunities. But whichever part of Barclays you join, you’ll enjoy immediate responsibility and continued support. Your development will be tailored to your needs, from the intensive initial training through to ongoing professional education and far beyond the programme. And you’ll be empowered to think innovatively and seize opportunities to inspire progress.

Graduates are playing their part in change right across Barclays. So as well as a strong academic record and a commercial outlook, you’ll need to be ready to help drive the business forward. As you do, you’ll take your own career forward too.

Summer internships
Most of our internships last for 8-10 weeks over the summer, although we do have off-cycle opportunities too, for up to six months in duration. In all cases, you’ll find yourself at the heart of the action. You’ll gain real experience in a real role, working on anything from live transactions and marketing projects to research and analysis, according to the business area you join. As well as benefiting from extensive training before and during the programme, you’ll have regular opportunities to network with intern colleagues, recent graduates and senior members of the firm.

Graduate opportunities
The Graduate Programme is our key future talent stream and new joiners will typically enjoy early exposure to business-critical projects, gaining valuable experience as they work alongside senior managers as valued members of the team.   The programme kicks off with a comprehensive introduction to Barclays products and services, offering a thorough grounding in the financial markets, and continues with a range of presentations, case studies and workshops. Graduates can also expect to undertake role-specific training and one-on-one mentoring.
Opportunities available
We have graduate and internship opportunities in areas right across the firm, including: Compliance, Finance, HR, Investment Banking, Marketing, Operations, Quantitative Analytics, Research, Risk, Sales, Structuring, Technology, Trading and Treasury.
